I'll be the first to admit when it comes to shucking oysters, our product cannot beat a skilled professional wielding a good old-fashioned oyster knife. But that's not me. I simply cannot use an oyster knife to open oysters without blood and pain.

I love fresh oysters. I invented the oyster opener after I got a scar from using a small screwdriver trying to open a stubborn oyster. Now with my oyster opener device, I can open an oyster at its hinge with relative ease in a two-step process:

After opening the shells with my Oyster Opener, I insert a common DULL butter knife to cut the oyster's abductor muscle. Sure, it takes a little longer but I'm smiling when I'm done - not cussing and crying.

DIRECTIONS

Hold oyster or clam in one hand.
Hold Oyster Opener in the other.
Place drill point (included) against oyster or clam hinge (dark spot on end).
Press against hinge area until tip enters.
Now the screw threads will draw the point inside, spreading apart the shell halves.
Stop when screw threads disappear.
Now you must insert a DULL butter knife inside the shell to cut the muscle.
Remove drill point from oyster.
Now use the butter knife to cut loose the oyser or clam.
Enjoy! After a little practice, you can shuck lots of oysters per hour!
